A fun and simple phonics matching game for children, using the full phonics alphabet to help them understand and recognise letter forms and the corresponding sound that each letter makes through repetition and reinforcement. The game-play is deliberately simple, even for very young learners and difficulty can be increased as the child’s competency grows.
This product is a self-published initiative through my other commercial venture: Bottlerocket ltd.Initially, the application started as an idea based around doing a phonic version of the classic ‘whack-a-mole’ game. The product development then tracked a path through paper prototypes, into early lo-fi executions on the iPhone. These were tested, much to their chagrin, on my own family to provide a close feedback loop that fed quickly into the product development lifecycle. As a free app, this cycle is ongoing through a series of releases and ongoing planned releases.
